Technical details

Geometry assumes a spherical Earth of radius 6,378 km and a geostationary orbit of radius 42,164 km above the equator. Azimuth is measured clockwise from true north and is undefined overhead; links at or below the local horizon have no received-power or margin result. Dish gain is 10 log10(η(πD/λ)²). The uplink uses the selected ground dish, a fixed 35 dBi spacecraft receive gain and 2.5 dB illustrative extra loss. Noise uses kTB with k = 1.380649 × 10⁻²³ J/K. Margin assumes a 12 dB required C/N. Coordination compares the desired carrier with a fixed 14.05 GHz, 36 MHz synthetic carrier and an illustrative 10 MHz guard. No rain availability, pointing, polarization, orbital discrimination or regulatory criterion is modelled.

Mathematical references: ITU-R P.525 free-space attenuation; ESA local azimuth and elevation geometry. Demonstration assumptions are described separately above.

All calculations run locally using synthetic scenarios. A real project starts with your data, agreed engineering methods and validation against known cases.
